GUWAHATI: Assam Football Association has shortlisted 22 referees and assistance referees including two women from the State for the forthcoming CAT-2 Referee Examination which is scheduled to be held at the later part of the year. The test would be conducted by the All India Football Federation.

The Vice President (Head of Referee) of Assam Football Association Dipak Dey informed The Sentinel that although as per the criteria a candidate must have to officiate at least 30 matches in the season before appears in the examination. But due to COVID 19 it was likely that the criteria may not be fulfilled by the most of the referee. So the Assam Football Association has requested the AIFF to consider the case.

The selected candidates: Nripendra Kumar Talukdar. Ashim Hazarika, Jayraj Brahma, Nirupam Dey, Brojen Timung, Kalyan Baruah, Tapan Dutta, Prem Narzary, Abdul Mazid Choudhury, Nirmal Singh, Jayanta Dutta, Shafiqul Haque, Satish Rabha, Samar Goyary, Isreal Hembrom, Ashok Kumar Rabha, Habibulla Ferdos, Sunit Kumar Borah, Paban Chandra Brahma, Soumitra Das, Moupriya Bhowmik and Banashree Borah.
