GUWAHATI: Assam's Kabir Baruah Nath became the first State player to sign contract with first Division club in Europe. Kabir recently signed with UE Engordany Club in Andorran, a mini state near France.

Earlier the 21 year old attacking mid fielder was with Spanish Club CD Olimpic de Xativa. He had been playing in Spain for last six years.

In a brief reaction Kabir said, "My football journey in Spain started at the age of 14 and these four years had been very tough. There were a lot of challenges and I had to face tough competition with footballers from all over the world who had exposure to all the facilities from childhood. I kept working hard, believed in myself and never deviated for a moment from my goal to become a professional footballer."

It may be mentioned here that Kabir was among the probable of U-17 World Cup squad but couldnot make into the team due to injury.
