Assam Olympic Association today admitted there were some lapses in the organizing part of the Assam Youth Olympics which is now in progress in various parts of the city.

Guwahati: Assam Olympic Association today admitted there were some lapses in the organizing part of the Assam Youth Olympics which is now in progress in various parts of the city. They also said that steps were taken to rectify the errors.

Media received several allegations like delayed start of the event, lack of facilities in the venue, sudden changes of venue etc. A cyclist was also injured yesterday at the time of competition when a two wheeler of a cycling official who was monitoring the event hit his cycle. The cyclist was immediately admitted to the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).

The secretary of the Assam Olympic Association Lakhya Konwar addressing the media today said, "We admit that there was a little bit of lapses. However we have already taken steps to rectify those areas."

He also said that the injured cyclist is now out of danger and is getting treatment at the GMCH.
