Assam Police Win Title In State Level Senior Archery Tourney
MANGALDAI: Assam Police emerged as the Best Team while Bhergaon District Archery Association bagged the Runners Up award in overall team performance in the 17th All Assam Inter District Senior Archery (Men and Women) Championship, 2022 which concluded at Mangaldai yesterday.
Assam Police team bagged eight gold, two silver and four bronze medals while Bhergaon team collected three gold, two silver and three bronze medals. In 70 meter Recurve event (men) Production Borgoyari of Arya College Archery Club secured gold, Sanjay Boro of Bhergaon silver and Mukesh Boro of Tamulpur secured the bronze medal. In 70 meter Recurve event (women) Promila Daimary of Bhergaon bagged the gold, Anisha Das of Kamrup (Metro) bagged silver and Sonali Basumatary of Kokrajhar bagged the bronze medal.
Acting President of Archery Association of Assam Jayanta Boro, Vice President cum Superintendent of Police of Baksa Rajen Singh, General Secretary cum Assistant Director of Sports and Youth Welfare Naba Jyoti Basumatary and President of Darrang District Archery Association cum Superintendent of Police of Darrang Sushanta Biswa Sarma were present in the award function and also gave away the Champions and the Runners Up trophy on Monday evening.
