Assam Premier Club Championship Begins in Udalguri
Rupjyoti Sangha register huge win in Tezpur; Jai Hind win in Jorhat

GUWAHATI: Udalguri District Cricket Association chapter of Assam Premier Club Championship kicked off today at the playground of Higher Secondary School, Udalguri. The flag of Assam Cricket Association is being hoisted by the Club Champioship Director Headquarter Zone, former Ranji cricketer Nasir Gul Khan and the flag of District Cricket Association being hoisted by District Working President Dhananjay Das. Former Ranji player Tilak Das was also present in the brief ceremony. Altogether eight teams are taking part in Udalguli leg. Town Sports Club thrashed Cricket Club Harisinga by 3 wickets in the inaugural match.
Brief Score: Cricket Club Harisinga 148/10 in 33.4 overs (Vikram Singh Daimari 37, Stephen Sangma 24, Nitupan Gogoi 3/35, Swaraj das 2/17) lost to Town Sports Club 149/7 in 27.5 overs (Hemanta Boro 53, Dipson Chawhan 4/32).
From Tezpur: Rupjyoti Sangha registered a huge 185-run win over Sonitpur Club. Winning the toss Rupjyoti Sangha scored a mammoth total of 312 in 40 overs losing 9 wickets. Lower middle order batsmen Ajay Ghosh (62 off 51), Manish Baruah (55 off 38) and Nasir Ansari (66 off 48) helped the team after losing 5 wickets for only 75 runs on thr board. Sonitpur Club were bundled out for 127 in 23rd over. Arijit Acharjee took 4 wickets for 24 while Ankit Manori grabbed 3 wickets for 26.
From Jorhat: Jai Hind Club beat Victorious Club by 5 wickets in a low scoring match.
Brief Score: Victorious Club 136/10 in 37.1 overs (Partha P Bora 27, Utpal Hazarika 22, Prabal Borkotoky 3/44, Bicky Dutta 3/26, Jayanta Madhaab Sharma 3/10) lost to Jai Hind Club 137/5 in 35.4 overs (Jayanta Madhaab Sharma 56, Jintumoni Mali 34).
From Charaideo: Arunudoi Sangha Parbotipur beat Charaideo Cricket CC by 5 wickets.
Brief Score: Charaideo Cricket CC 93/10 in19.1 overs (Pritam Das 0, Abdul Rahim Khan 24, Mithilesh Kumar Sah 3/7, Probin Gogoi 2/21) lost to Arunudoi Sangha 94/5 in 13.4 overs (Probin Gogoi 54no, Anup Jyoti Barush 4/16).
From Biswanath: Biswanath Blue Warriors Club outplayed Royal ABC Ambari by 124 runs. Electing to bat Biswanath Blue Warriors managed 290 in 39.2 overs with the help of openers Dibash Hazarika (73 off 53) and Bikash Kurmi’s (85 off 91) half centuries. They added 124 runs for the opening wicket. Imran Sheikh took 3 wickets for 71. Royal ABC could score 166 in 36.4 overs. Opener Pawan Kumar Thakur scored 58. Pawan Majhee claimed 3 wickets for 25.
