Assam Red Register Victory Over Assam Blue In Challenger Trophy At Goalpara

GUWAHATI: Assam Red registered a 5-wicket win over Assam Blue A with the help of Abhilash Gogoi’s superb bowling in the Challenger Trophy at DN Singha Stadium, Goalpara on Thursday.

After conceding 15 runs 1st innings lead to Assam Blue A, The Assam Red bounced back and bundled out the opponent at just 58 in 19.2 overs in second innings. Abhilash grabbed 5 wickets for 17 in 7.2 overs while Siddharth Sharma took 3 for 25. Assam Red reached the target 76 in 17.3 overs losing 5 wickets.

Earlier, Reds could manage 136 in 62.3 overs in their first innings.

Brief Score: Assam Blue A 151/10 in 51.5 overs (1st innings) and 58/10 in 19.2 overs (2nd innings)-Abhilash Gogoi 5/17, Siddharth Sharma 3/25 lost to Assam Red 136/10 in 62.3 overs (1st innings)-Gokul Sharma 52, Bishal Saha 30, Pritish Raha Ray 4/25, Amlanjyoti Das 3/42, Riyan Parag 2/32 and 76/5 in 17.3 over (2nd innings)- Wasiqur Rahman 20, Riyan 3/44.

On the otherhand, the match between Assam Red A and Assam Green A has been washed outdue to overnight rain.
