Assam Rifle and Shooting Association (ARSA) felicitates Hriday Hazarika
GUWAHATI, Sept 20: Assam Rifle and Shooting Association (ARSA) felicitated world champion shooter Hriday Hazarika in a well organized function held at the Kahilipara shooting range here today. Hriday won the gold medal in the junior category of 10mt Air Rifle in recently concluded World Meet in Korea.
DGP of Assam Kuladhar Saikia attended the felicitation function as a chief guest. The other dignitaries present in the function were legendary athlete Bhogeswar Baruah, present and former president of the Assam Rifle and Shooting Association Pallav Bhattacharyya and Bhaskarjyoti Mahanta respectively and many others.
In a brief speech Kuladhar Saikia today advised Hriday to stay focus only to the game. “Success sometimes takes person to another street which puts negative effect on the performance. So be cautious and focus only to the game,” said Saikia.
Bhogeswar Baruah too spoke a few words on this occasion. “No one can win a medal in Olympics or other big international events unless he or she practices hard on regular basis setting a specific target. You are young and doing well in your field. Just concentrate on your game. Our blessing will be always with you,” said the first Arjuna award winner athlete of the State.
Meanwhile talking to The Sentinel at the side line of the function Hriday, who stays in Delhi to avail better training facilities, said, “My main aim now is to maintain consistency in the performance. Right now I am training under renowned coach Deepak Kumar and hope under his guidance I would be able to improve the level of my performance further.”
