GUWAHATI: Assam finished Day 3 at 107-5 in their second innings in the Col CK Nayudu Cricket tournament tie against Tamil Nadu at Silchar today. In reply to Assam’s first innings total 198 Tamil Nadu bowled out 167 in their first innings. The host is now leading by 138 runs and still five wickets in their hands. Pacer Mrinmoy Dutta and spinner Rahul Singh played vital roles to give Assam first-innings lead. Mrinmoy collected 5-58 while Rahul picked up 4-47 and the duo forced Tamil Nadu to end their first innings 167.
In the second innings top order of Assam, except Mujibur Rahman, failed to stay wicket too long. Mujibur remained not out on 28. Opener Biplab Saikia (27) was the other major contributor.
