GUWAHATI: Assam thrashed Haryana by 7 wickets in the Women U-19 One Day Cricket tournament held at the Judges Field in the city today. The match was reduced to 43 overs because of wet ground condition.

A good performance from the bowlers helped the local team to restrict Haryana, who invited to bat, 137-2. Opener Versha Bhatiwal (47) was the top scorer.

Chasing 138 runs to win opener Pori played the lead role for Assam. The batswomen, carried the bat, took 102 balls to play a magnificent knock of 66 (no) runs and there were seven boundaries and one six in her innings. She got good support from Anamika Bori who remained not out on 31.

The unbeaten 4th wicket partnership between the two produced 66 runs. Assam reached the target in 37 overs losing three wickets.
