Assam to face Poducherry in opener of U-17 National Girls Football Championship

GUWAHATI: Assam will take on Poducherry in their opening game in the forthcoming U-17 National Girls Football Championship which will be organized by the Assam Football Association in Guwahati and its adjoining locality. The competition will kick off on June 18.

Assam are placed in group 'G' along with Poducherry, Gujarat and Haryana. Host will start their campaign on June 21. Their next two league matches will be held on June 23 against Gujarat and June 25 against Haryana. The preparatory camp of the Assam team will kick off tomorrow at Dimakuchi and the host will play their group league matches in the same venue.

This time 34 teams will participate in the competition. While Nehru Stadium, SAI Complex and Sarusajai Sports complex will host the various matches of the competition in Guwahati, LNIPE, Sonapur and Dimakuchi will be the other two venues.
