Athletics Federation of India yet to send Hima Das name for official entry!

GUWAHATI: The participation of sprint queen Hima Das in World Athletics Championship is in doubt as Athletics Federation of India (AFI) has not included her name in the initial entries of relay team. The competition will begin in Doha from September 27.

The Athletics Federation of India (AFI) announces its mixed and women 4X400mts Relay team recently and Hima was included in both the teams. But it has been learnt that Hima’s name not included in the initial entry for both the relay teams which is submitted by AFI to the IAAF. Sources said, Hima Das is not fully fit and Athletics Federation of India has decided to wait a couple of days before taking final decision on the inclusion of her name in the final entry. They are likely to take the opinion of experts also as entire relay team may suffer if her injury aggravates during the meet. There are still a couple of days left to take final decision on Hima as the entry of athletes for World Athletics Championship will be closed on September 16.
