Bodo Indigenous games concluded at Dhekiajuli Stadium

TEZPUR: The khomlainai(wrestling) championship was held at Dhekiajuli Stadium in Sonitpur district. The Championship organised by 20 Assam Rifles under the aegis of Red Horn Division culminated with glittering closing ceremony preceded by spectacular cultural display. The championship brought out the best raw talent from the stout yet sublime Bodo boys and girls whose indomitable spirit was on constant display.

The closing ceremony was attended by Maj Gen Sanjeev Khatri, VSM GOC Red Horn Division and Brigadier S Murugesan Commander Chindit Bde.

A total of 87 girls and 102 boys from Sonitpur, Bongaigaon, Kokrajhar, Chirang, Baksa and Udalguri districts participated in the Khomlainai championship. The championship had commenced on November 12 with General secretary Assam Bodo Students Union inaugurating the event and had motivated all the players and thanked Assam Rifles for the wonderful initiative.
