Bordoloi Trophy likely from last part of October

GUWAHATI: The Gauhati Sports Association has started preparation to host the the next edition of the Bordoloi Trophy. If everything goes according to the plan then the tournament will kick off in the fourth week of October.

Although the top officials of the Gauhati Sports Association refused to speak details on the preparation as according to them it is still in the very preliminary stage. However a source revealed that the meet will kick off last part of the October. “Apart from the top clubs of the North East which included two heavy weight teams of the state-Assam State Electricity Board Sports Club (ASEBSC) and Oil India Limited Football club, Duliajan-we are in touch with a few clubs of Kolkata too. We have also kept open the possibility to bring a few teams from other parts of the country also and already stared preliminary discussion.”

He also added: “It will take a few days more before we can confirm you the names of the participating teams.”

It may be mentioned here that Gauhati Sports Association failed to organize the tournament twice during the last three years.
