Challenger Trophy Cricket Championship: Team Red in Driver’s Seat

GUWAHATI: Team Red made good start in the semi final of the Challenger Trophy Cricket championship at Goalpara today. The side bowled out Team Green ‘A’ paltry 116 runs and later they were 14-0 in their first innings when the match came to an end earlier then its schedule time because of rain. Abhilash Gogoi of Team Red made good show with the ball picking five wickets for 27 runs.

In another game at the Judges field in the city Team Green ‘A’ rode on a nice innings from Rahul Hazarika (77) scored 244 runs losing all wickets. Amlan Jyoti Das (6/76) and Riyan Parag (4/72) shared ten wickets between them. At stumps Blue A were struggling and managed to score 97/5 in their first innings.

Brief scores: Goalpara-Green ‘A’ 1st innings 116 (46.5 overs), Kunal Saikia 28, Amit Sinha 28, Abhilash Gogoi 5-27,Team Red 1st innings 14/0 (7.2 overs). Guwahati: Green 244 (62.1 overs), Rahul Hazarika 77, Hrishikesh Tamuli 46,  Sib Sankar Roy 40, Amlan Jyoti Das 6/76, Riyan Parag 4/72. Blue A 97/5, Danish Ahmed 37no.
