Chayanika creates new record in national cycling

GUWAHATI: Assam's Chayanika Gogoi won gold creating a new national record in the 72th Senior National Cycling Championship which concluded in Hyderabad today. In this competition states women's cyclists won 5 medals including two gold, two silver and a bronze.

Chayanika won the gold medal with timing of 2:43.132 in the pursuit section and also created national record in this category. Assam's Gangotri Bordoloi gets the bronze medal. Gangotri wins gold medal with 42 pts in 10 km race. Chayanika also won a silver medal in 6 km straight race. On the other hand, Assam bagged silver medal in the team category. The players of Assam participated in the team event were Chayanika Gogoi, Gangotri Bordoloi, Jayashree Gogoi and Bristi Kankana Gogoi.
