CM Women Sports Meet begins at SAI Sports Complex

GUWAHATI: CM Women Sports Meet got underway at the SAI Sports Complex here today. Altogether 32 districts are taking part in the meet. The inaugural function was attended by Queen Oja, MP as the chief guest. The other guests present on the occasion were Dharma Kanta Mili and Partha Pegu, Director and Joint Director of Sports and Youth Welfare, Assam, Director of SAI Subhash Baumatary and the president of the Sports Journalists Federation of India Subodh Malla Barua. The two-day meet included 11 events and these are 100m, 200m, 400m,800m, 1500m race, Long Jump, High Jump, Shot Put, Discus, Javeline and 4X100mts relay.

On the first day, Nabanita Barman of Nalbari collected the gold medal in the 100mts race. Paramita Das (also from Nalbari) and Shilpi Das (Kamrup Metro) bagged silver and bronze respectively.
