Devojit Dutta, Aruna win Table Tennis title at ABITA stadium

GUWAHATI: Devojit Dutta and L Aruna Chanu emerged champion in the men’s and women’s singles event of the InterMedia Table Tennis held at the ABITA stadium here today. Debojit (Asom Aditya) defeated Mehdi Hussain of The Telegraph 2-1 in the final. In the women section, L Aruna Chanu overcame the challenge of her teammate Anupama Gogoi by 2-0.

In the Men’s team event, Prasar Bharati lifted the crown beating The Telegraph in the final. Prasar Bharati, comprising Gautam Sarma and Lokendra Singh won against Mehdi Hussain and Umananda Jaiswal of The Telegraph by 2-1.

Meanwhile, Chhaygaon Press Club will take on News 18 in the final of the HN Barua Memorial Inter Media Football tournament. The final is slated for Tuesday. In the semi-final News, 18 defeated Janambhumi by 4-0 while Chhaygaon Press club won against Pratidin Times by 4-0.
