Directorate of Sports & Youth Welfare named 4 NCC cadres for Chilarai Award

GUWAHATI: The Directorate of the Sports and Youth Welfare selected the names of four NCC cadres who will receive Chilarai Award for the year 2020. The name of the award winners was finalized in a meeting held recently which was chaired by Chief Secretary Kumar Sanjay Krishna. Several top officials of the Sports and Youth Welfare department including M Angamuthu, Commissioner and Secretary, were present in the meeting. The four cadets who will receive this year award areCollege Subham Singh (B Borooah college/Senior Division Boys), Niharika Kashyap (Cotton College State University/ Senior Wing Girls), Abu Hasmiud Doza (Sainik School, Goalpara/Junior Division Boys) and Esika Ahmed (St Mary's High School/ Junior Wing girls). The Bir Chilarai Award conferred every year to four best NCC cadets of the State and the award comprises medal, certificate and cash award of Rs 25,000.
