FIFA delegation to be in Guwahati for infrastructure inspection for U-17 Women’s World Cup

GUWAHATI: A FIFA delegation, led by Oliver Vogt (FIFA Tournaments and Events division), will be visiting Guwahati on November 28 to inspect the soccer infrastructure in the city for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup. India will host the event next year.

During the visit the FIFA and LOC delegation will be inspecting Indira Gandhi stadium along with different training sites to evaluate the progress made towards the preparation for the U-17 Women’s World Cup. Later they will also visit the other venues spread across the country. It may be mentioned here that apart from Guwahati, Kolkata, Bhubaneswar, Ahmedabad and Navi Mumbai are shortlisted as the venues for the competition.
