Fit India Freedom Run: Webinar held to create awareness

GUWAHATI: In order to create awareness amongst the masses with regard to " Fit India Freedom Run" which was started from August 15, 2020 and going to culminate on October 2, 2020, a zoom online meeting was organized under the chairmanship of Dr. Subhash Basumatary, Director of Regional Centre, SAI, Guwahati with prominent sportspersons such as Bhogeswar Barua, Tayabun Nisha, Jamuna Boro. Partha Pegu, Joint Secretary, Sports & Youth Welfare, Assam also attended the webinar meeting along with 195 participants including athletes, coaches & staff of various SAI units under SAI Regional Centre, Guwahati.

Apart from the above, some senior sports journalists from the state also took part in the zoom meeting.

The participants appreciated the initiative taken by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for launching Fit India Movement and subsequently initiative taken by Kiren Rijiju, Minister of State (I/C), Youth Affairs for launching the Fit India Freedom Run and accordingly initiative taken by Sandip Pradhan, Director General, SAI for implementation of Fit India Movement & Fit India Freedom Run to make India a healthy nation.
