Former Australian cricketer Dean Jones compares Riyan with South African batsman AB de Villiers

GUWAHATI: City-based young cricketer Riyan Parag has been the find in this year Indian Premier League (IPL), feels the former star of Australian cricket team Dean Jones. He even compared the 17 years old boy to the legendary South African batsman AB de Villiers.
Dean Jones, part of commentators team in ongoing IPL, said that Parag is good all over the wicket and can play both in backfoot and frontfoot. “I think Riyan is an absolute potential superstar. He has amazing stroke play and is good on the back foot and front foot,” said Jones in a TV show.
He also praised the Assam boy’s ability to get into the position of the delivery very quickly. “Just like AB de Villiers he has a knack for getting into the right position when the ball is about to release. It gives himself access to the ball to hit it anywhere in the ground,” said the former cricketer who played 52 Tests and 164 ODIs for Australia.
