Former international paddler Nipjyoti Barua passes away

GUWAHATI: Former international Table Tennis player Nipjyoti Barua passed away today after suffering from COVID-19. He was just 46. The paddler, who turned out for India in multiple occasions, was ill for last few days and was admitted to the hospital today where he breathed his last.

Nipjyoti, a former national champion in junior category (U-12), was born in 1974 and represented Assam State Table Tennis team for nearly 15 years from 1984. He was the part of Indian team which participated in 4th Asian Junior TT Championship held in New Delhi in 1989. The paddler also represented India in US Open TT held in 1990.
