Fourth-Place Finish For Mrinmoy Rajkhowa In National Chess

GUWAHATI: Mrinmoy Rajkhowa finished fourth in 33rd National Under-9 Open Chess Championship which concluded at Ahmedabad today. In the last and final round today Mrinmoy held Akash G of Tamil Nadu to draw and scored 9 points from11 rounds. Akash G claimed title by scoring 9.5 points. Mrinmoy scored 9 points along with Adireddi Arjun and Suhash A- both from Telengana. But Adirreddi Arjun got second position and Suhash A got third on the basis of tie-break score and Mrinmoy had to contend with fourth position. He received cash award of Rs 8000.
