Gauhati Sports Association suspends players, manager of Rajbari

GUWAHATI: Gauhati Sports Association took a strict action against a section of players and coach of Rajbari Club for misconduct and unruly behavior against referee during a GSA RG Baruah Super Division Soccer League match against Gauhati Town club in the city recently.

Two players of the team- Angang and Thomas had been suspended for next 12 matches and also imposed a fine of Rs 1500 each. Manager of the team Srikant Singh was debarred from taking part in any activities organized by Gauhati Sports Association for the next three years. On the other hand fine of Rs 10,000 was imposed against Rajbari Club.

The secretary of the Gauhati Sports Association Dhrubajyoti Kalita informed The Sentinel that the association would not tolerate such incident any more. “Any team, in the future, if involved with this type of incidents they would be relegated immediately,” said Kalita.
