GUWAHATI: Gauhati Town Club registered huge 189-run win over SG Club in Assam Premier Club Championship at Judges’ Field today. Losing the toss, GTC managed 243 runs in allotted 40 overs. Nayanjyoti Deka (74 off 85 balls) and Niraj Tiwary (52 off 45 balls) struck half centuries. Dipak Thakur and TipuBultan claimed 3 wickets each. In reply SG Club were bundled out for just 54 in 22 overs. Abhinab Choudhury (3/7) and Bikash Chetry (3/19) were the successful bowlers for GTC. Nayanjyoti was adjudged as the Man of the Match. Tomorrow Ankurjyoti Club will face New Star Club.

From Lakhimpur: Nowboicha Cricket Club registed second win here today as they beat Dholpuri United Sports by 29 runs. Brief Score: Nowboicha CC 102/9 in 20 overs (Madhab Dutta, Amarendra Borah 3/24, Juntu Bania 3/22) beat Dholpuria US 73/10 in 16.3 overs (Sherali Khan 3/14).

From Silchar: Two cenuturies have been seen from both sides here in today’s high scoring Club Championship match as United Club beat Gana Sur by 28 runs. Batting first, United Club scored 280 runs in 40 overs losing 8 wickets. Amit Baishya struck 102 in 98 balls with 10 fours and 2 sixes.

Opener Biswajit Bhattacharjee added 49 off 48 balls. Deepjyoti Das took 4 wickets for 53 runs. Gana Sur lost wicket in first ball but fought back strongly. Middle order batsman Arijit Mahapatra played an attacking innings but could not save the day. He scored 130 runs in 103 balls including 15 fours and 6 sixes. Gana Sur managed 252 in 37.3 overs where Shubham Roy contributed 36.

From Bajali: United Club Kenduguri beat Pathsala by 4 wickets. Brief Score: Pathsala 175/9 in 25 overs (Anjan Sarma 41, Satyajot Thakuria 32, Vintu Medhi 5/34) lost to United Club 179/6 in 21.2 overs (Dharmendra Talukdar 49, Rituparna Choudhury 37no, Bikash Talukdar 31, Ghutu Talukdar 2/18).

From Udalguri: Lions Club beat Rising Cricket Club by 139 runs. Brief Score: Lions Club 186/10 in 33.4 overs (Kunal Das 49, Gurprit Singh 47, Ratumoni Das 3/37, Pallav Nath 3/31) beta Rising CC 47/10 in 22.2 overs (Ujjal Deka 3/6).

From Dibrugarh: Nabarupa Sangha beat Old Boys Club by 2 wickets in a thilling affair. Brief Score: Old Boys 147/8 in 25 overs (Biku Boruah 50, AMit Borpujari 45, Deebojit Baruah 2/14) lost to nabarupa Sangha 152/8 in 23.4 ovres (Prasanta Mech 57, Manjit Sharma 4/16).
