Gauhati Town Club Win In Assam Premier Club Championship

GUWAHATI: Gauhati Town Club won the Guwahati chapter of Assam Premier Club Championship by defeating Bud Cricket Club by 46 runs in the final at Judges’ Field today. Batting first, GTC managed 167 in 40 overs losing 9 wickets. Simanta Neogi remained unbeaten at 59 in 51 balls. Pushparaj Sharma took 4 wickets while Bhaskarjyoti Barman claimed 3 wickets. Bud CC was bundled out for 121 in 35 overs. Bikash Chetry took 3 wickets for 11. Bikash was adjudged as the Man of the Series award.

From Lakhimpur: Nakari Club won the first phase of the championship in Lakhimpur district. Nakari beat D&B Club by 6 wickets in the low scoring final. Brief Score: D&B Club 94/10 in 31.3 overs (Kaushik Hazarika 23, Raju Pegu 3/20, Hrishikesh Bora 3/16) lost to Nakari Club 98/4 in 16.2 overs (Sunzow Brahma 27, Rajib Das 6).
