Golap Rabha shines in Pattaya

Boko: Golap Rabha shone again in the international sports arena, this time with two gold medals in the Mr. Universe 2018 and pro Mr. Asia 2018 meets held in Pattaya city in Thailand on November 24 and 25. Rabha, resident of Kaliabari village in Boko under Kamrup district (R) won gold medals in 80 kg in both the events and also became the overall champion in the both events.

Pankaj Chowdhury, Secretary of Assam World Bodybuilding Federation told that total three players from Assam took part in the events. They are Golap Rabha, Kushal Changmai and Biju Ram Boro. Golap Rabha won the titles of Overall Mr. Universe 2018 and pro Mr. Asia 2018. Kushal Changmai won Overall Champion in senior (above 40 years category) and Overall Champion in Body Athletics. Biju Ram Boro achieved fourth position in the Senior 40 years age category and fifth position in the 80 kg category in the Mr. Universe Amateur competition.

Earlier in the month of October the bodybuilder had brought laurels to the State with three gold medals and Mr. World (80kg) title at the World Fitness Federation (WFF)-World Body Building Federation (WBBF) Amber Prix Championships held at Lithuania. The three categories he participated were Men's Pro World Bodybuilding, Men Muscle Model and Pro Mr. World in 80kg. Rabha started his bodybuilding career in 2003 under Jiten Kalita at Boko. People of Boko area were celebrating after got the news.
