GUWAHATI: The first edition of the GTC Chess Grand Prix concluded today. Altogether 100 players participated in the day long event. The tournament was inaugurated by Vivekanada Das, Vice President of Gauhati Town Club. The prize distribution ceremony was attended by Bulbul Choudhury, Vice President, GTC, Nandan Buragohain, Chief Coach, GTC Chess Foundation, Mrinal Deka, Joint Secretary, Assam Chess Club among others.

The tournament was conducted by International Chess Arbiter and Director of GTC Chess Foundation Biswajit Bharadwaj.

Winners of different categories are:

Under 6: Naitik Deorah, Under 9: Ameyaa Gupta, Under 11: Sahaj Gupta, Under 13: Abhigyan Goswami, Under 15: Nalinakhya Kashyap, Under 19: Mridumoloy Das, Open Category: Tanmay Rajbongshi, Best Girl/Women category: Shruti Medhi, Nistha Saikia, Youngest Player: Jahnav Das.
