Hangpan Dada Memorial Trophy concludes at Seppa

SEPPA: The 4th edition district-level Hangpan Dada Memorial Trophy being organized for East Kameng district concluded with the final football and volleyball matches played here at General Ground, Seppa on Saturday last.

Team of 9 Chayangtajo AC emerged as the winner of the Volleyball and Football tournament in girl’s category. Meanwhile, 11 Seppa-West and team 8 Bameng AC emerged as the winner in Boy’s category of Football and Volleyball respectively.

Quoting “winning and losing is part of a game,” East Kameng Football Association (EKFA) President Eka Rimo (AE Power) exhorted the participants to play the game with true sportsmanship spirit and in accordance with the rules and regulations of the game. He further urged the players to play the game with utmost fairness and discipline.

Highlighting about the government initiatives towards sports, Rimo elaborated about the scope in sports and the existing quota system in govt. jobs and provision of cash awards for meritorious sportspersons and simultaneously, advised everyone to promote and avail the commendable scheme of the Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh at the fullest.

Speaking on the occasion, All East Kameng District Students’ Union (AEKDSU) President Chakang Yangda congratulated the participating players for being selected for district level after winning at their respective constituency-level tournaments and advised them to exhibit sportsmanship spirit while playing in accordance with the prescribed rules and regulations of the game.

Elaborating on the socio-cultural aspects of sports & games, he informed the gathering about the merits of playing any sports in life and enlightened its positive dividend in terms of personality development or physical wellbeing of an individual.

Yangda also urged the younger generation to imbibe socially acceptable qualities and adopt the mantra of hard work and perseverance in order to become a successful person. He further exhorted the youth to give equal importance to study also.
