Imran, Abhrajyoti, Hridika clinch title in All Assam Inter District Women, Junior (Boys and Girls) Chess Championship-2021

GUWAHATI: Simran Ahmed of Guwahati, Abrajyoti Nath of Cachar, and Hridika Das of Guwahati clinched title in Women, Junior Boys and Junior Girls category in All Assam Inter District Women, Junior (Boys and Girls) Chess Championship-2021. In Women category Simran scord 4.5 points from 5 rounds and remained unbeaten throughout the tournament. Susmita Bhowmick of Kamrup and Mahasweta Kumar of Darrang both scored 4 points each and got second and third position respectively according to their tie-break score.

In the Junior Boys category Abhrajyoti Nath of Cachar clinched the title with 5.5 points from 6 rounds. Pran Govinda Parashar Kashyap of Guwahati also scored the same number of rounds but declared second on the basis of tie-break score.

In junior Girl's category, Hridika Das of Guwahati clinched the title by scoring 4.5 points from 5 rounds. Chaarvi Choudhury also from Guwahati scored 4 points and got second position.

Altogether 83 players from all over Assam participated in the tournament. Top two players from each category selected to represent Assam in National Online women Championship-2021 and National Online Junior (Boys and Girls) Championship-2021.
