Inter School-Academy cricket begins today at Nehru Stadium, Guwahati

GUWAHATI: The 1st TOPCEM-ASJA Inter-School and Academy Cricket Tournament will get under way at Nehru Stadium, Guwahati from Sunday.

Altogether three schools – South Point School, Royal Global School and Fairyland High School – and three coaching centers – Guwahati Cricket Coaching Center, We R North East and River Rine Cricket Coaching Center – are participating in the under-16 tournament hosted by Assam Sports Journalists Association.

Guwahati Cricket Coaching Center will lock horns with We R North East in the first match and South Point School will play Fairyland High School in the second game on Sunday.

The top teams of the schools and coaching centers groups will meet each other in the final on March 17. Former first class cricketers Subhrajit Saikia and Sazzad Zaheer Hussain have consented to be the distinguished guests at the opening ceremony on Sunday.
