GUWAHATI: The secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Jay Shah today visited the Barsapara Cricket Stadium during a personal trip to the city. In his short stay at the stadium Shah had a threadbare discussion with the officials of Assam Cricket Association regarding the ongoing tournaments, various cricket infrastructure development projects undertaken by Assam Cricket Association across the State and a few other issues.

Shah assured Assam Cricket Association of providing all possible helps from the BCCI for the ongoing cricket development projects. Earlier Shah visited Kamakhya Temple and offered prayer.

The secretary of the Assam Cricket Association Devajit Saikia, treasurer Tridib Konwar, joint secretary Kamakhya Saikia and several other office-bearers of the association were present at the stadium during the visit of BCCI's secretary. Later Devajit Saikia informed the media that ACA Stadium is likely to get an international match during the last part of this year. It may be mentioned here that last international matches allotted to ACA stadium was between India and Sri Lanka. However, the T20I game was called off without a ball being bowled because of wet pitch.
