Labong Sports Club lift Bodoland Gold Cup title

TANGLA: Labong Sports Club, Shillong lifted the champions trophy in the 23rd edition of Bodoland Gold Cup Football Tournament by defeating Yarkhok United FC Manipur 2-0 in the final here at Dimakuchi stadium along the Indo-Bhutan border in Udalguri district on Sunday.

In the keenly contested final Joseph Mayuwa of Yarkhok United FC scored the first goal in 34th minute while Ejjingmut Lyngdoh netted for Labong Sports Club in 37th minute and 19th minute of first half and second half respectively.

The champions were handed over a trophy and cheque worth Rs.50,000 while the runners up were handed over a trophy and a cheque worth Rs.30,000.
