Long distance runner Anjali Das aims to scale Everest

GUWAHATI: Long distance runner Anjali Das, who is at present actively involved with adventure sports, has planned to scale Mount Everest.

Addressing a media at Gauhati Press Club Das said, “Although I started my career in Kabaddi but it was my dream to scale Everest and so later I shifted myself to adventure sports. If everything goes according to the plan then I will try to climb Everest next year.” Das, who completed Adventure Course of Mountaineering from HMI, Darjeeling, already climbed a few peaks like Renok Peak and Kahru Dome as a part of her preparation.

Das today also appealed to the government to extend support which can help her to become the first women mountaineer from Assam to conquer the highest mountain peak.
