GUWAHATI: J.N.D. Mahanta of Assam has successfully scaled the Auden's Col on September 5 along with an agency North Himalayan Holidays based in Uttarkashi.

This traverse has been the first such successful expedition after 2019 Covid pandemic. Mahanta is a Superintendent with CGST and is also a BCCI panelled first class umpire from Assam.

Auden's Col is arguably one of the most challenging and least explored treks in Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarakhand. Auden's Col is a high mountain pass that connects Jogin I (6465m) and Gangotri III (6580m) peaks and is situated at a height of 5490m.
