Memorial Meeting of Jatindra Kumar Bora held In City Hotel

GUWAHATI: The memorial meeting of the noted sports organizer Jatindra Kumar Bora was held in a city hotel here today. Former principal of the Cotton College Prof Udayaditya Bharali was the chief guest in the function.
Bora, who was the founder member of ASEBSC Sports Club, was also the chairman of the Assam State Electricity Board. He was instrumental to develop many clubs and sports organizations in the state.
The one and half hour long function was organized by the JK Bora Memorial Forum. Different speakers, including chief guest Prof Udayaditya Bharali, the secretary of the Assam Football Association Hemendra Nath Brahma, former state player Narayan Boro, Bora’s former colleague Karuna Sarma, termed Bora as a sports organizer of repute who was easily accessible.
The other present in the function were Jatin Bora’s son Arnab Kumar Bora, the former secretary of the Gauhati Sports Association Paresh Chandra Das, the secretary of the All Assam Tennis Association Ankush Dutta and Bora’s family members.
