Minister Pramila Rani Brahma visits Thunlai Narzary's residence

KOKRAJHAR: In a tit for tat action, the Minister for Social Welfare and Soil Conservation of Assam Pramila Rani Brahma on Monday visited the residence of international shot put player ThunlaiNarzary at Gelaguri under Dotma block of Kokrajhar district and took stock of situation of erosion in their agriculture land.

Brahma, soon after getting the appeal of Narzary visited her home and met the family members. The Minister also physically visited the erosion side of their three bighas of paddy field land by the River Longa. She also assessed the erosion caused due to flood in the locality and urged the concerned department to take urgent step for the protection of affected side due to erosion.

The Minister said that she will move the State Government for international achiever ThunlaiNarzary for due attention to extend help in her carrier. She also ensured that she will take necessary initiatives for protection and compensation for erosion of their only three bighaws of paddy field from which the family have to depend on.

Narzary has achieved number of gold medals in national and international shot put throw events and has brought laurels to the nation and the state as well. Now, she has set her eye to play in Asian Games and Olympic Games in the days to come. Presently, she is in Assam Police constable job.
