Mr Saraighat Body Building meet on April 2

Guwahati: The 33rd Mr Saraighat RG Baruah Memorial All India Classic Body Building Championship will be held at the Tarun Ram Phukan Indoor stadium in the city on April 2. Addressing a media gathering the secretary of the Assam Body Builders and Fitness Association Bhabajyoti Goswami said that several top body builders of the country are expected to participate in the championship which carries a total prize money of Rs 5,85,000.

Champion of the meet will earn Rs 1,50,000 and the cash award for 1st and 2nd runner-up will be Rs 1,00000 and Rs 80,000 respectively. Top 10 position holders will receive cash awards.

Meanwhile 4th Mr Saraight Assam competition will also be held simultaneously during the championship. The winner will take away a cash award of Rs 30,000. Goswami also added that from this year they will introduce Ms Saraighat women's Sports Model Physique Championship which carries a total cash award of Rs 80,000. The winner in this category will be richer by Rs 30,000. Padmashree Awardee Premchand Degra will be in Guwahati during the meet and will also conduct the championship.

Meanwhile, the Assam team for the Mr Saraight RG Baruah Body Building competition was announced today. Squad: Nabajit Das, Deilp Deuri, Subhadeep Baidya, Dipanjan Mitra, Keshar Ali and Utpal Das,

The media briefing was also attended by Basanta Das and Romen Chandra Dutta, vice Chairman and joint secretary of the organizing committee respectively.
