National Lawn Bowls Championships begins in Guwahati

GUWAHATI, The 8th Senior and 4th Under-25 National Lawn Bowls Championships got under way at Lawn Bowls Green, Sarusajai Sports Complex here today. The Championships are being hosted by Lawn Bowling Association Assam under the aegis of Bowling Federation of India. The secretary of the Assam Olympic Associa-tion Lakhya Konwar inaugurated the Championships in presence of Bishnu Ram Nunisa, Secretary, Assam Sepak Takraw Association, Bipul Sarma, Secretary, Assam Fencing Association and others
Altogether 300 players and officials from 16 states, including host Assam, are participating in the Champion-ships. Host and defending champions Assam had a strong opening day with resounding victories in all the matches.
