NE Media Cricket begins

GUWAHATI: Bhal Khabar and Assam Talks won their respective matches in the NE Media T20 Cricket championship which got under way at the Judges’ Field here today. In the first game of the day Bhal khabar defeated News 18 NE by six wickets.

In the other game Assam Talks thrashed GLP by 210 runs. Earlier the inaugural function was held in the same venue and it was attended by former secretary of the ACA Pradip Buragohain, sports organizer Ranjit Sarma, former cricketers Gautam Hazarika and Deep Borah, senior journalist Uday Borgohain and few others.

Brief scores: 1st game: News 18NE 140 (20 overs), Diganta Deka 60no; Bhal Khabar 141-4 (17 overs), Jitu Ali 65.

2nd game: Assam Talks 268-3 (20 overs), Bichitra Baruah 118no, Yasir Ali 103no; GLP 58 (10.4 overs), Sanjive Barman 7-13.
