GUWAHATI: 20-30 days net practice is necessary before the start of the season to be match fit, feels the ace pacer of the State Arup Das.

The pacer has already started to bowl in the net maintaining all rules of COVID-19. However he was waiting when the Assam Cricket Association will start the trial camp which the pacer feels important to get back into shape.

The players were forced to stay at home once lockdown was imposed to combat COVID-19 in March. Except some fitness training no other training was possible during that period.

Talking to The Sentinel Arup today said, "During the initial stage of lockdown I faced a little bit trouble as the break was too long. But there was no other alternative. So I decided to start fitness training at my home and it really helped me to stay fit. Very recently I and Krishna Das, another ace pacer of the state, have started net practice in Barpeta following all kind of COVID-19 restriction."

When asked what time will be required to reach match fit the right handed pacer said, "I have come to know that ACA will start the cricket activities from the next month and trial camp for the season will also start soon. I am waiting for it. There I will get all the facilities and 20-30 days camp will be enough for me to become match fit."
