NFRSC earn first victory in RG Baruah Super League

GUWAHATI: North East Frontier Sports Club (NFRSC) earned the first victory in the RG Baruah GSA Super Division Soccer League defeating Navajyoti Club at the Nehru stadium here today. The result is 2-1.

It was the first game of the fourth round of the league. The match, however, turned out a very dull encounter as neither side able to display an eagerness to take command in the game.

The match was 7 minutes old when NFRSC took lead through Bipul Khanikar and they went into the lemon break with a 1-0 lead.

Raham Ali scored the equalizer for Navajyoti in the 63rd minutes of the game. Although the goal area of NFRSC was well guarded still Raham Ali managed to score with a nice shot.

NFRSC thereafter tried to put little pressure and one such move they earned a penalty as Sibra Narzary was fouled by an opponent defender inside the Navajyoti box. Sankar Seal didn’t waste the opportunity which also ensured three points for his team.
