Nibedita Barman bags best athlete award in Chief Minister women Sports

GUWAHATI: Two-day Chief Minister women Sports meet concluded at the SAI Sports complex here today. Athletes from 32 districts took part in the two-day meet. Nibedita Barman of Nalbari bagged the best athlete award of the meet while her district Nalbari adjudged as the best team of the competition.

The closing function was attended by Lakhya Konwar, the secretary of the Assam Olympic Association, as the chief guest. The other guests present on this occasion were Omkar Mol Kedia, DG, Sports Authority of Assam, Dharmakanta Mili, Director and Partha Pegu, Joint Director, Sports and Youth Welfare, Assam.

Gold medal winners in different events: Discuss: Purabi Buragohain (Sivasagar), Shotput: Nabanita Chetia (Tinsukia), High jump: Junmoni Devi (Tezur), Javelin : Tilu Gogoi (Kamrup), Long Jump: Shilpi Das (Kamrup m), 200m: Nibedita Barman (Nalbari), 4X100m relay: Nalbari.
