Oakland High School win Inter School Cricket title

GUWAHATI: Oakland High School lifted the 13th All Assam Mrigen Sarma Memorial Inter School Cricket Tournament title by defeating Faculty H S School in the final at Latashil Playground by 52 runs on Friday.

Invited to bat first Oakland managed 223 in allotted 30 overs losing 6 wickets with the help of fifties from Mrinal Sharma and Shahid Ali. In reply Faculty were bundled out for 171 in 25.1 overs.

Shahid Ali, who made 81 off 68 balls, was adjudged as Man of the Final as well as Man of the Series.

Other award winners were:

Best Batsman : Sushanta P. Das ( Faculty H. S. School), Best Bowler : Devraj Bordoloi (Assam Jatiya Bidyalay), Best All Rounder : Kuldeep Basfor ( Gyan Educational institution), Best Fielder : Navanil Kr. Borah ( Faculty H. S. School), Best Wicket keeper : Debanga Bikash (N. O. S), Promising Players- Tanuj Sarma ( Don Bosco School), Subrajeet Seal ( N. O. S), Most Disciplined School : Assam Jatiya Bidyalay.

Brief Score: Oakland High School 223/6 in 30 overs (Shahid Ali 81, Mrinal Sharma 63no, Sachin Hazare 28, Varun Agarwal 3/38) beat Faculty H S School 171/10 in 25.1 overs (Sushanta Das 51, Dixit Sarma 36, Navanil Kr. Borah 30, Binod Boro 3/30, Nanda Das 2/27).
