OIL – AITA Super Series Tennis Tournament for boys and girls U-16 begins

GUWAHATI: The OIL – AITA Super Series Tennis Tournament for boys and girls U-16 got under way at the All Assam Tennis Association Complex, Chachal in the city today. In the boy's singles, 8th seed Darwin Max of Tamil Nadu lost to unseeded Sehaj Singh Pawar of Karnataka in straight sets 6-1, 6-0. All the other seeds moved to the next round. Due to heavy downpour in the afternoon the girl's singles matches were delayed by two hours. In the boys singles Debasish Sahoo of Odisha was the top seed while Bhicky Sagolsem of Manipur was the second seed. In the girl's singles top seed was given to Dhvani Kavad of Gujarat and Namrata Das of Assam was awarded second seed. The boy's and girl's singles prequarter final singles matches will start from tomorrow morning followed by the boys and girls doubles matches.
