GUWAHATI: Oil India Football Club, Duliajan lifted the 74th Independence Day Cup Football Tournament title at Nagaon today. They defeated Assam Rifles by a solitary goal in the final at Nurul Amin Stadium which was played under flood lights.

The all important goal of the match was scored by Shirandeep Moran in the 25th minute.

The OILFC dominated most part of the game and created several opportunities but failed to capitalize except one. On the other hand, except the first part of the second half there was nothing to write for Assam Rifles.

It was the seventh occassion when OILFC lift the Independence Day Cup title. Earlier, they achieved the I-D Cup trophy in 1976, 1977, 1994, 2004, 2005 and 2016 while they were beaten finalist in 1979, 1990, 2002, 2003, 2008 and 2013.
