Hockey India recently launched an open application submission system for registration of Coaches and Technical Officials. Once a candidate submits application, he or she would need the approval of the concerned Hockey India's affiliated Member Unit under which a Coach or Technical Official is submitting the application. Once the application is approved Hockey India will give final approval.

Talking to The Sentinel the secretary of the Assam Hockey Tapan Das said, "The open application and registration platform will make the registration process a lot smoother and as a result Hockey India and its Member Units will have a great opportunity to discover and work with talented Coaches and Technical Officials across India."

It may be mentioned here that Assam Hockey is working to promote quality coaches in the state. Recently former State Player Ratul Ansari earned FIH class-1 coaches' badge.

Das added: "Ratul is now the lone coach of the Northeast who has the badge of FIH class I coach. We will use him to train our coaches as well as our players."
