Pijush Hazarika Attends Inaugural Ceremony of 44th All Assam Wrestling Championship As Chief Guest

Guwahati: Minister of Information & Public Relations, Pijush Hazarika on Sunday attended the inauguration ceremony of "44th All Assam Wrestling Championship'' as a chief guest.

The wrestling championship has been organised by the Arm Wrestling Association of Assam at Deshbhakta Tarun Ram Phukan indoor stadium.

While interacting with the media, Hazarika asserted that he is delighted to be the chief guest at the opening ceremony.

'' I am a sports fan who has always been drawn to sporting activities and i am honoured to be present as the event's chief guest,'' he added.

He further wished the all the best to all the members of Assam Panja Association, who have been able to organise the same numerous times in Assam at the international level.

''Best wishes to every persons who are ready to participate in today's competition,'' he added.

''As a sports lover, it was a real pleasure attending the inaugural event of the 44th All Assam Arm Wrestling Championship organised by Assam Arm Wrestling Association at TRP Indoor Stadium, Guwahati. The legacy of this sport is being highlighted in the global arena proudly by Assam,'' he tweeted.

Hazarika also extended his warm regard to the official of the Arm Wrestling Association of Assam, who have been able to host a classical sports championship.

Apart form Hazarika, executive President of Punja Association Nava Jyoti Bora, General secretary Pran Pratim Chalia along with many seniors were present on the occasion.

As per the reports, around 200 players from different parts of the state are expected to participate in the championship.
