Premier Table Tennis League in Guwahati From Tomorrow

GUWAHATI: First Syeda Dania Taski Premier Table Tennis League will be held in Guwahati from Wednesday. The three-day meet will be organized by the Nagen Hazarika Table Tennis Foundation (NHTTF).
Addressing a media gathering former paddler and key founder of the NHTTF Gautam Hazarika today said, “The idea behind to host the meet is to popularize the game and find out hidden talent from different parts of the state so that they can be groomed for the future. Altogether 12 teams will participate in this franchise based championship and it will be played in the format of Ultimate Table Tennis.”
He also added: “After the league phase top four teams will qualify for the semi-finals and the champion team would be awarded cash award of Rs 25,000.”
Several top players confirmed their participation in the competition. Hazarika today also disclosed the name of the 12 teams which will take part in the meet and these are: Clever Dolphins, Lightening Cheetas, Dominating Elephants, Growling Gorillas, Giants Whales, Ferocious Tigers, Scary Sharks, Illusive Leopards, Humble Rhinos, Silent Polar Bears, Gliding Eagles, and Fearless Lions.
