Radial Club of Nagaon goes to final in Assam Premier Club Championship

GUWAHATI: An all-round performance from Dhiraj Goswami guided Radial Club of Nagaon into the final of the Assam Premier Club Championship defeating Bhaben Dwaka Memorial Cricket Coaching Centre (BDMCCC), Tezpur in a one-sided match by 104 runs at the ACA Stadium here today. The contribution of Dhiraj in the game was 50 runs and 4-37.
Invited to bat first Radial Club were bowled out 195 runs in 49.2 overs. Four batsmen of Nagaon’s outfit contributed good score on the board and Dhiraj’s innings was the best. He took 62 balls to score exactly 50 with the help of three boundaries and one six. Asif Wasim Haque (39), Bichitra Barua (37) and Raj Borah (31) were the other major contributors with bat. Zuned Ansari and Rajjakuddin Ahmed picked up three wickets each giving away 29 and 39 runs respectively.
In reply BDMCCC were bowled out 91runs in 25.5 overs courtesy to a nice spell from Dhiraj Goswami. Except Sankuman Mohanta (22) and Zunad Ansari (21) no other batsmen were able to contribute good score on the board.
The second semi final of the championship would be held tomorrow between Gauhati Town Club and Cricket Club of Dibrugarh.
